Un Peu Au-Delà : Spain

Saturday Ty and I were in Sevilla! And it was awesome!

First we went to the cathedral of Seville and Giralda. The Spanish cathedrals are so much more spacious and many of the rooms had different colors, tiles, and themes altogether.

This is the lime tree garden of the cathedral

There, we saw the tomb of Christopher Columbus!

And we climbed to the top of the cathedral's tower

Next we went to the Alcázar. It was amazing! I loved every bit of it. It was so big we almost got lost. They're actually using the Alcázar as the set for Dorne for the upcoming season of Game of Thrones.

The tiles were incredible

We went to a tapas bar for lunch. I've loved all the Spanish food, and the people are considerably more friendly.
We went shopping in Barrio Santa Cruz afterwards. Ty got me a Spanish dress I wore to dinner and we also bought some mini Spanish tiles.

At night we went to dinner at the best Italian  place in town, Cosa Nostre. It was right on the banks of the river.

Sunday we took the train to Jerez, which is very close to my cousin Shandy's house in Rota.

Shandy and her soon to be husband Chris picked us up and we went to a wine/sherry tasting at Tio Pepe.
Ty cheesin with Shandy

Jerez has been known worldwide for their sherry, even Shakespeare made references to it in his writing. Picasso has visited this same winery and signed a barrel!

Here's one signed by Steven Spielberg

We next went to Shandy and Chris' home, which is absolutely beautiful and overlooks the ocean.

We ate dinner on the porch and took a walk on the beach
